FICP

The FICP (Fichier des Incidents de remboursement des Crédits aux Particuliers) is a French register maintained by the Banque de France listing consumer credit repayment incidents and over-indebtedness measures. Checking it is a mandatory step before granting credit to an individual in France. On its own, however, it is not enough to assess a borrower's actual creditworthiness. It is a French-specific mechanism with no direct equivalent in other countries.
