Know Your Agent (KYA)

Know Your Agent (KYA) refers to verifying the agents, representatives and intermediaries acting on behalf of a third party: distributors, brokers and business introducers. The aim is to confirm that whoever acts in the name of a customer or a company is genuinely authorised and trustworthy, a frequent blind spot in KYC and KYB programmes. The term now also covers autonomous software agents built on agentic AI.
