Credit score
A credit score is a rating that summarizes the risk associated with a borrower based on financial and behavioral data. Unlike countries with a centralized scoring system (such as the FICO score in the United States), France does not have a single national credit score: each institution develops its own assessment. This is increasingly based on actual banking data obtained via open banking, rather than on self-reported information alone, and must remain explainable to comply with responsible lending obligations and the GDPR.
