Fraudulent scheme

A fraudulent scheme is an organized construction, as opposed to an isolated opportunistic fraud. It generally brings together several elements that validate one another: one or more front companies, nominees, shared registered addresses, documents consistent with each other, and sometimes crossed financial flows intended to simulate activity. Its defining feature is that no single item looks suspicious on its own, since each has been prepared to pass the check it is intended for. What reveals it is therefore not the verification of one element, but the cross-referencing: the links between directors, between addresses and between structures.
