Onboarding
Onboarding refers to the process by which an organization takes on a new customer, from the initial application to activation of the service. It chains together the collection of information, verification of the identity or the company, the regulatory checks, the acceptance decision and go-live. It is the moment where two opposing pressures concentrate: it is the entry point fraud targets, and it is also the stage where the most legitimate customers are lost, each additional supporting document driving conversion down. The whole challenge is not to apply the same intensity of control to everyone, but to calibrate it to the real risk of each application.
